Authentication: Which password do I use?

The CS department has a few different authentication mechanisms that are used to access different resources.

  • LDAP Password
    • SSH access to public CS machines (cycles)
    • E-mail (IMAP, POP, WebMail)
    • Web Sites that use CAS (CS Guide)
  • Samba/CIFS Password
    • Mount user/project/web file systems using CIFS/SMB (Windows-style)
  • Mailing List Passwords
    • Each list will have individual accounts and passwords (contact list owner to make changes)
