Software on the Public CS Machines (Available/Installing/Updating)

Requests for Software Installation

Requests for software installation should be sent to csstaff@cs.princeton.edu. Please include what you want installed, where you want it installed, what it does, and a pointer to an official ftp/web site from which the software can be obtained. Source code is always preferred but we will install prebuilt binaries if necessary. Be sure to include any licensing restrictions and how you intend to pay for it if it needs to be purchased. Lastly, please, tell us how urgent the request is and include any deadlines involved.

MATLAB

Princeton University has purchased licenses for MATLAB as well as a substantial number of MATLAB Toolboxes. This software can be used on CS public use servers (cycles), including the ionic cluster, as well as individual users' machines. Installation instructions and detailed licensing information can be found on OIT's Princeton Software MATLAB page.

OIT Software Available for Purchase

Software may be purchased through the Princeton Software Repository -- the PSR Web Store. The Web Store is an online site for making software purchases. All the software purchases made through OIT’s Software Sales are processed through the PSR Web Store.

* Eligible customers (faculty, staff and students) log into the Web Store using their netid and password.

* All software currently offered by Software Sales is available through the PSR Web Store.

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is a Microsoft Program that supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for learning, teaching and research purposes. The University has a subscription to the Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. All of the software licensed by Microsoft and is available for download by using your University account. Microsoft offers this software for academic use only.
