Cycle Servers

The CS department runs 4 Intel based machines available to all users of the department. The machines are all Fujitsu RX200 S8 servers with dual, eight-core 2.8GHz Intel Xeon E5 2680 v2 processors with 256GB RAM running the Springdale distribution of Linux. All of the public login servers allow SSH access:

  • cycles.cs.princeton.edu
(an alias that will connect to one of: soak, wash, rinse, spin)
  • soak.cs.princeton.edu
  • wash.cs.princeton.edu
  • rinse.cs.princeton.edu
  • spin.cs.princeton.edu

Hi! I just set up a cs account and changed my password, but I cannot successfully ssh into the cycles machine. Here is what happens in my terminal:

nat-oitwireless-inside-vapornet100-d-29191:~ SamanthaWeissman$ ssh cycles.cs.princeton.edu

Hi,
I need to modify a file in the cycles server but do not understand how to do so. How do I access the server through Finder (navigation on the Mac)?
It's also not letting me edit files using Emacs in the terminal?

Thanks
