Overview
Open OnDemand is a web-based portal that provides access to Ionic cluster. It allows researchers and students to manage files, run jobs, and launch interactive applications without requiring prior Linux experience or additional software installations.
The only requirement is an up-to-date web browser. We recommend using Firefox or Google Chrome for the best performance.
Key Features
- File Management and Transfer – Upload, download, and organize files directly from your browser.
- Job Management – Submit, monitor, and manage batch jobs on the cluster.
- Shell Access – Open a secure command-line shell in your browser.
- Interactive Applications – Run desktop applications such as MATLAB, Jupyter Notebook, RStudio, and Visual Studio Code.
Access Requirements
To use Open OnDemand, you must:
- Be connected to the VPN.
- Navigate to: Princeton CS Ionic OnDemand
- Log in using your Princeton OIT credentials (PID, password, and multi-factor authentication).
Usage Examples
Open OnDemand provides access to a range of interactive apps, including:
- MATLAB
- Jupyter Notebook
- RStudio
- Visual Studio Code
These applications can be launched directly from the web portal.
