Drupal (CMS) for Research Websites

Drupal is an open source content manage system that can be used to run websites. If you would like a Drupal site for a CS research website, CS Staff can setup Drupal and any required modules you need for the site. We will also maintain the site by applying security updates for Drupal and any installed modules. We ask that you only request modules that you absolutely need to use and try to keep modules to a minimum. Modules you request should be actively maintained by the Drupal community. If a module is no longer maintained, we will have to remove it from the site but we will try to give you 30 days notice before doing so. If an unmaintained module has a security issue, it will be disabled immediately and we will contact you. We are currently using Drupal 7 and will be moving to Drupal 8 in August 2017.

Here are the steps to setup a Drupal Research Website:

  1. Request "Project Disk Space" - This will be the file storage location for the Drupal installation files.
  2. Request "Project Web Space" - This will be the URL for the website.
  3. Request a "Database" - The database is used for Drupal and site content.
  4. Send an email to csstaff@cs.princeton.edu requesting a Drupal site and any modules/themes you need installed.
